Marcus Johnson

While pursuing his JD and MBA at Georgetown, he independently produced and distributed his first CD (Lessons in Love), which sold more than 40,000 units; a phenomenal success for an unknown independent artist’s debut release. This album helped him launch his career as a renowned jazz keyboardist/pianist, and later, he released his second CD (Inter Alia), with staggering success

As head of Three Keys Music, Johnson produced and released on the Three Keys Music label national jazz artists: Michael Lington, Jaared Arosemena, Bobby Lyle, Nick Colionne, R&B singer, Alyson Williams, neo-soul songstress, Zahzarah; and smooth jazz Saxophonists Phillip Martin and Brian Lenair.

To date, Marcus has released over fifteen Billboard charted CDs, and has the distinction of having his groundbreaking 2008 Billboard Top 20 Contemporary Jazz FLO (For the Love Of) Anthology, which consisted of three distinct CDs -- FLO Chill, FLO Romance, and FLO Standards - all charting Top 10 on Billboard Contemporary Jazz Charts simultaneously.

Philip “Doc” Martin

Since the release of his 2003 debut Saxappeal, Phillip “Doc” Martin has been wowing audiences everywhere from Blues Alley in D.C.to prominent venues like Ram’s Head Tavern in Annapolis, Maryland, Philadelphia’s Dell East, SoCal’s Spaghettini, in addition to appearances at the Bahamas Jazz Festival, Carolina Music Festival, Trenton Jazz Festival, Berks Jazz Fest, the St. Lucia Jazz Festival,  Catalina Island Jazz Trax Festival and many more earning inspiring amounts of airplay (including on XM Watercolors and The Weather Channel) for tracks like “Deep-Pockets” and the title track from his 2009 set Realization. His latest Next Paradigm Records Self-Titled release, Phillip Doc Martin further establishes this powerful expertise via his dynamic flow and tight, funky old-school-driven alto vibe.

While many independent artists with cool, successful “day jobs” prefer to avoid references to them when they talk about their music, Martin is the complete opposite, fully embracing the inspirational factor of being a top-notch practitioner in two very different professions. Beyond his ever-expanding musical fan base, hundreds of patients in the Washington DC area know him as “Dr. Martin,” a board-certified dentist at his own practice Quality Dental of Bowie.
